Risk of developing breast cancer never goes away

Woman in the study were cancer-free for 5 years after they had their initial cancer treatment.Washington (OTL) - Researchers have come out and stated that the risk of developing breast cancer exists even after a woman is treated for the disease.

The research was carried out on women treated at the Houston M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

They looked over woman from 1985 to 2001.

Woman in the study were cancer-free for 5 years after they had their initial cancer treatment.

What they found though was that within 10 years of the treatment, 1 in 10 breast cancer patients saw a recurrance of the disease.

Breast cancer is the leading cause of female deaths in the U.S.
