Washington (OTL) – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has come out and approved flu vaccines for the 2008-2009 season.
The new influenza vaccine includes new strains of the flu virus which are most likely going to cause people to become ill this coming season.
The FDA is trying to erase the terrible memory of the last flu season. This comes as the flu vaccine last year did not prevent against the majority of the strains.
The FDA stated that all three strains for this year’s vaccine have been altered.
This means that the 2008-2009 flu vaccine should prove to be mighty effective in preventing the flu.
There are six vaccines approved, from a variety of manufacrtuers.
