Boston (OTL) - New studies have been released this week which show that certain genes that may lead to an increased risk of schizophrenia.
In total, three studies were published on Wednesday in the journal Nature.
What they found was that certain points in the genetic code were linked to the disorder.
Schizophrenia is a brain disorder, causing delusions, as well as hallucinations.
The belief is that problems with genes lead to nearly 90% of all cases of schizophrenia.
The points of interest include Chromosomes 1, 15, as well as 16 in the genetic code.
The belief is that within these genes, they may find the cause of the disorder.
