Now, a new study that has been published this week in the journal Science reveals that there is no longer such a disparity between female and male math scores.Washington, D.C.- Nearly 15 years ago it was all the rage in the headlines, how young women were falling behind boys on the SAT and ACT in the mathematics portions of the test.

Now, a new study that has been published this week in the journal Science reveals that there is no longer such a disparity between female and male math scores on college entrance tests.

Tests from more than 7 million students from 2nd grade to 11th grade reveal that girls have managed to erase the difference, and drawn even in math.

Many people have accepted over the years, including educators, parents, and the students themselves that women simply are not hardwired to excel in Mathematics.

Now, the stereotypes are being revisited and changed. How the general public and society at large views women and their performance and ability has to change, due to the fact that the advantage and belief that “boys are better in math,” is simply no longer true.

Many colleges are starting to recruit more women for their science and math programs, partly due to the data revealed in this type of testing.
