Pittsburgh (OTL) - A prominent doctor, the director of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute Dr. Ronald B. Herberman has come out and urged cell phone use to be reduced.
Dr. Herberman sent out a memo to the staff and faculty at the institute, stating that cell phone use needs to be cut down to reduce the risk of developing cancer.
Just recently, an international team of medical experts found that cell phones emit electromagnetic fields, which can increase your risk of cancer.
Dr. Ronald B. Herberman stated “Really at the heart of my concern is that we shouldn’t wait for a definite study to come out, but err on the side of being safe rather than sorry later.”
He warned that kids need to be kept off cell phones as well as it can harm organ development.
The best suggestion he made to cut down on exposure to the electromagnetic waves was to keep the phone away from your head when in use, using a speakerphone or something of that nature.
