A woman died at the Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York after being left and ignored in the emergency room for 24 hours.
She was sent to the emergency waiting room for 24 hours in total after she was admitted to the hospital.
She was told to wait there until a bed was ready. A surveillance video caught her on tape waiting for almost 24 hours, and then collapsing to the ground.
The video also revealed that staff and security personnel were walking right past her, and paid no attention.
She was not looked at until another patient got the attention of the staff, but it was too late.
Since, the director of the psychiatry department, as well as the doctor and security head on duty were fired.
