Washington - According to a new study by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration, 40% of teens get alcohol to drink from adults.
The study was carried out on teens aged 12 to 20 from 2002 to 2006.
What they found was that 40% of teens who drink alcohol stated they got the alcohol for free from an adult or parent.
There are 11 million teenage drinkers in the U.S, with 3.5 million who are considered to be dependent on alcohol.
These numbers are quite alarming to say the least and show a major problem with alcohol in the U.S. among teens.
