Immunization Advisors Strongly Advise New Vaccines For Children

Washington, D.C.-With the different diseases that affect children, two new vaccines have appeared on the immunization horizon that are being urged for parents and caregivers to give to their kids.

The Advisory Committee on Children’s Immunization Practices recommend giving two additional vaccines to children than was previously recommended earlier.

The addition of Kinrix, manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, and Pentacel, which is made by Sanofi Aventis will help protect kids from a number of different diseases.

Kinrix serves as a booster for tetanus, diphtheria, polio and pertussis, or whooping cough.

The vaccine Pentacel works to protect against tetanus, Diphtheria, polio, and HIB disease.

By approving and recommending these two vaccines, it will mean that kids aged 4 to 6 years can get protection against 4 serious diseases with one less shot.

Children in the United States are vaccinated against 14 different diseases a number of times.

Many of the vaccines require more than one dose over a period of time to provide full protection.

By finding combined vaccines, such as these two new vaccines, it will mean eventually less injections, and more compliance on the part of parents and caregivers to get their children vaccinated.
