Gloucester, MA-A large number of young teenage girls in a high school in Gloucester have reportedly made an agreement to all get pregnant and to bear children as a group, together at the same time.
School officials noticed that there was an alarming sudden spike in teenage pregnancies this year at Gloucester High School, according to the Principal.
Principal Joseph Sullivan was interviewed by Time magazine, and revealed that the investigation by the school has uncovered a group of young girls, none of whom were over 18 years of age had made a secret pact to all become pregnant at the same time.
In a normal year there are about 4 pregnancies a year at Gloucester High School.
This year the number has soared to 17 pregnancies.
At first it was perplexing how so many young women would be pregnant at the same time. School officials were baffled especially that the young women all seemed to be relatively unconcerned.
As the school and parents began to investigate, the young women were observed giving each other high fives in the hallways, and having a celebration attitude about being with child.
About 50 percent of the expecting youthful mothers are 16 years old or younger.
The overall attitude of the young women perplexes and frustrates many of the parents and school officials. The young women have an air of adventure, as if the group pregnancy is a huge large party.
