The study was carried out by U.S. government researchers from the National Institute of Drug Abuse, part of the National Institutes of Health.

The risk is caused by an overproduction of a certain type of protein, which is caused by the active ingredient in marijuana, THC.

The protein is apolipoprotein C-III, and is seen in higher amounts in heavy marijuana users, which were classified as smoking around 80 to 350 marijuana cigarettes each day.

This protein, at high levels, increases triglycerides in the body, which thicken artery walls and increase the risk of stroke, heart attack, and heart disease.

The study, which already has great opposition from marijuana supporters, has been published in the journal Molecular Psychiatry.
