According to a report released by Self magazine and the University of North Carolina of Chapel Hill, 75% of women in the U.S. suffer from eating disorders.
The report was done via an online poll and found that 75% of women in the U.S. report suffering from eating disorders as well as bad eating habits.
They found that 31% of women who were trying to lose weight resorted to tactics such as purposely throwing up, using diet pills, laxatives, etc.
They found that 67% of women who did not have eating disorders were trying to lose weight.
53% of these women were already at a healthy weight, but were still on a diet.
Some women, 16%, ate less than 1,000 calories each day just to try to lose weight.
This impacted both young women as well as adult women.
