China says heparin contamination wont happen again

The Chinese government has announced that they will step up oversight on heparin.The Chinese government has announced that they will step up oversight on heparin.

China’s State Food and Drug Administration made the announcement that they will look into the makers of heparin and heparin-related products much more closely from this point forward.

New rules put in place will only allow manufacturers to buy supplies from registered suppliers and to also build up quality control standards.

Many recalls have been announced from the U.S. FDA in regards to the Baxter blood-thinner heparin.

19 deatsh in the U.S. alone have been linked to the tainted heparin, with the contaminant being announced by the FDA just last week.

The contaminant was found to be oversulfated chondroitin sulfate, yet it is not yet known if it was purposely put into the drugs or by accident.
