Willie Nelson ran afoul of Texas law over the Thanksgiving holiday. The 77-year-old country singer was arrested Nov. 26 after federal Border Patrol agents found 6 ounces of marijuana on his tour bus, according to a news report on rollingstone.com.

Texas law considers a marijuana possession of more than 4 ounces a felony. Nelson could spend a minimum of 180 days in jail if convicted; the maximum penalty is two years and a $10,000 fine.

In January, six of Nelson’s band mates received citations in North Carolina for allegedly possessing moonshine and marijuana, and in 2006, Nelson and his tour manager, David Anderson, each paid a $1,024 fine and served six months of probation after police in Louisiana found nearly 1.5 pounds of marijuana and 3 ounces of hallucinogenic mushrooms during a traffic stop.
