Shortly after a Bob Dylan concert in Amhest early Saturday morning a man wearing a back stage pass from the concert ordered 178 pizzas from a popular downtown restaurant.

The man told employees of Antonio’s that he would return in a couple of hours for the pizza’s and deliver them to the Dylan Crew.

Employees of the restaurant stayed making pizzas until 5:30 in the morning and to their surprise that man never returned.

Owner Walter Pacherco commented that he had no reason to doubt the man as he was wearing an official backstage pass.

The cost of the pizzas ordered was $3,900 and Pacherco was forced to throw most of them away.

The pizzas were all gourmet and not the standard pepperoni or cheese and the man promised a big tip to the employees if they stayed past closing time to finish the massive order.

Police are investigating the situation and with the help of the store security tape they are confident they will catch the man and hopefully the restaurant will be reimbursed for these pizzas.

  1. It would have been nice for the Pizza Parlor to have donated the pizzas to the homeless and homeless shelters. At least they could use it as a tax write off.
Still and all, what a JERK that person was for ordering up the bogus orders.
I hope he gets caught, then he’ll wish he had pizza while he’s eating prison food.
(Now I’m hungry for pizza). Go figure!!!
