Mel Gibson’s Living Expenses Total 600k a Month, but only pays $6k on child support
In the violently contentious Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva court battle, Gibson is claiming that his living expenses are 600,000$ per month.
In addition, Gibson argued that his ex and their child deserve only 1% of his monthly living expenses as child support.
The Wednesday court hearing was the first time Gibson and Grigorieva have appeared in court.
Grigorieva was asking for an increase in child support payments.
Gibson’s lawyers countered that since their child Lucia is only 9 months old, she does not need more than 6,000$ per month in child support.
The judge is expected to rule shortly.

6k per month is already too much child support. While I feel men should be responsible for their children, child support should not be a means for a woman to live off of. I work hard for my money and for this low life woman to get 6k a month in handouts is absurd.
The point is not that $6,000 is enough or too much child support. This is the child of Mel Gibson and she is intitled to live as well as he does. Regardless who the mother is. So WooJYee why would you not want that for this baby. You must be a man for a women who has brought forth children and had ethics and morals would never feel this way
Lucia is only a baby. 6K is enough. All of Mel’s children have been well provided for throughout their lives. And when they became teenagers, they got part-time jobs. He allows his children to earn a living rather than being spoiled entitled brats. Robyn and Mel have done a good job with their children. Of course Lucia will received a wonderful upbringing, however. her mother Oksana thinks she (Oksana) is entitled to live off of his money. She wasn’t his wife. She was his mistress. And it aches her that she never could replace Robyn.
He already bought her a 2.4 MILLION dollar home, new car, health insurance, nanny, etc. Oksana is living all expenses paid. He’s even paying for her (AND Robyn’s) legal fees. How much more money does he have to give to everyone?
This is about LUCIA. And he is only responsible for HER, not Oksana. Despite his faults, he wouldn’t allow the mother of his child to live on the street. Oksana just wants his money, and I’m surprised how so many people still can’t see that.
If Oksana wants more money, she should get a REAL job like other single-mothers, instead of sleeping with rich men and getting pregnant. That’s not a career.
i think child support should be totally wiped out of the entire countries vocabulary. I think no matter what there should be a 50/50 with both parents half the time with the mom and half with the dad. that way it gives both parties equal time with the kids and no child support should be paid. Generally speaking men do make more that women but a woman can have a good job and support her self and her child. To many lazy people out in this world and it all revolves around money. I say cut out assistance with child care cut out public aid everyone must fin for themselves or suffer.
I am a divorced mother who is raising 3 kids without ANY help from their father. He has only seen his kids 1 time in 3 months. Yes, I live about 3 hours away from him, but this is to keep the drama out of our life. He is not a great, stand up father. This man should be paying child support. Anyone that thinks he should not be, needs to take a good look at things. You can’t make general statements about everyone. There are people that I agree, should not be paying as they see their children on a 50/50 basis. But when there is an absent, dead beat parent, then they should be paying to help raise their kids. They sure didn’t have a problem laying down to make their kids, so there should be no easy way out for them. =]

Not going to slam you on your opinion because it’s your opinion to have…That being said; I find it PATHETIC that you use the fact that you are a Soldier in the US Army as a reason no one can comment against you. Its a bit outlandsish of an article to compare 600 thousand dollars to 6 thousand. A person making 4 thousand dollars a month on their own could take care of a spouse and two children. 6 thousand a month is actually very generous. She doesnt have to work again. She is selfish and a money grubber. She didnt earn a lick of his money although I think he should obviously pay for his childs upbringing. 6 thousand dollars a month is mroe than ample. Maybe when the child gets older the amount can be reconsidered. Mel Gibson is a very wealthy man.
Either way…the people have their villian now. All can rest at ease. We have now someone we can throw all of our arrows and our own insecurities and use Mel as a scapegoat for EVERYTHING! What people are really misunderstanding is that $600k/month is probably for staff taking care of everything from accounting, maid staff, landscaping, chauffer (sports car crash case in point…if he hit anyone then he’d be getting sued ‘extra’ just because of who he is), etc.
No one disagrees that she should get some child support and god knows you can do a lot with $6k/month. It’s pretty important to keep that child support reigned in to a modest amount, probably not much more than $6k, because otherwise we are telling everyone it is ok for women to get pregnant for the sake of a secure stream of income from rich guys. That is just purely unethical…and it happens. So let’s have a just society which doesn’t encourage it.
Things aren’t as simple as they seem and even if Mel does pay $6k/month…he’s still taking it in the shorts emotionally and public relations wise. He’s every bit of a human being as much as anyone else and clearly in pain. Maybe everyone should recognize where compassion is needed. Robin (his soon to be Ex) did…and probably still is.

I think journalists need to put this 600K into perspective. The man is simple. He may have a nice car or two, or take a trip with his sons, but you don’t see him dropping loads of cash everyday shopping like Britney Spears. This money is for living expenses that have to be paid. You just don’t buy a car and expect to leave it at that. No. There are bills that need to be paid, and Mel is taking the tab for EVERYONE. He has EIGHT children, a WIFE, and EX-MISTRESS to pay for besides himself. He has business projects to put into production and pay for, etc. His life isn’t gravy. But the ultimate thing that needs to be reminded is that he EARNED all of this money and he can do with it as he pleases whether we like it or not. He’s caught wearing the same shirt every now and then, etc. He’s a simple guy, not lavish. All this is about is his bills and making it out to look like he’s just blowing money on nothing. He even admitted, “I HAVE NO MONEY” because he knows it. All the people he has to take care of are costing him (it’s his family, but he still doesn’t mind because they are his responsibility) yet it still is a load of stress for just ONE person. Oksana knows this, but she doesn’t care. She wants it all. It’s wjhy she did not sign the pre-nup or the 15 million dollar settlement. It wasn’t enough. And that settlement was largely Lucia’s trust fund. She wants to live off him like everyone else in his family AND take his child away all at the same time. If she gets full custody, that’s a sh-tload more than just 6K a month.
