Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has filed a lawsuit against Black Eyed Peas manager, Polo Molina, for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He is seeking unspecified damages of more than $25,000.
Perez says that on Sunday, Black Eyed Peas’ member Will.i.am. made “belligerent demands” that the blogger stop posting information about his group on the Web site, and when he “refused to concede,” Molina allegedly “engaged in a brutal physical assault of Lavendeira outside of the Toronto nightclub Cobra.”
Hilton’s suit claims Molina attacked him because he wouldn’t stop writing about the Black Eyed Peas on his website. Molina turned himself in Toronto police on Monday.
But wait…there’s more! The Black Eyed Peas manager may be on his way to jail, seeing how he is on probation for a DUI.
“Perez Hilton was assaulted by the band’s road manager because he would not agree to stop writing about the Black Eyed Peas on his Web site Perezhiton.com,” Bryan Freedman, Hilton’s lawyer, said in a statement. “Whether you love Perez or hate him, he is entitled to his freedom of speech without fear of physical violence. This lawsuit will make the statement that violence is never the answer.”
Hilton and will.i.am posted dueling videoblogs aruging their cases.
In post on his blog, Perez Hilton, apologized for his use of slurs towards Will.I.Am.
“The other night in Toronto, after feeling physically threatened by a verbally abusive Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas, I chose the most hurtful word I know to hurl at him,” Hilton writes. “I was in an out-of-the ordinary situation and used a word that I would not utter under normal circumstances.”
