Now that Jon and Kate Gosselin’s break up is confirmed, new information is coming out about their 10-year marriage, and the lives they led off-camera.

Kate Gosselin said to People magazine in an exclusive interview that it was her husband of 10 years, Jon Gosselin, who demanded the divorce.
“I curled up in a ball and I sobbed. I couldn’t breathe; I was hyperventilating. I was scaring people who were calling to check on me because I couldn’t even talk,” she told the entertainment magazine.
In the papers filed Monday in a Pennsylvania court, Kate refers to her 10-year marriage as “irretrievably broken” and checked a box indicating that she and Jon have been living “separate and apart” for at least two years.
Nevertheless both Jon and Kake appear committed to placing their family first. “We’re a family like anyone else—trying to survive,” Jon told PEOPLE. “We just happen to be on television.” T
Their reality show had record ratings, though after next week will take a break until early August, by which time TLC hopes to figure out how to film a series about a family splitting apart.
