Washington (OTL) – Marley & Me managed to take the top spot at the holiday box office, as it took in $37 million.
The film opened up on Christmas day and managed to premiere through Sunday at the top spot.
The film, starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson, had some tough competition as well.
It beat out Adam Sandler’s Bedtime Stories, a Disney film, which took in $28.1 million.
It also beat out The Curious Case of Benjamin Button starring Cate Blanchett and Brad Pitt, which took in $27 million.
The new Tom Cruise film Valkyrie took in $21.5 million at No. 4.
The box office was up 8% compared to the Christmas weekend a year ago.
