Washington (OTL) - Twilight stormed out of the gate at the box office, taking in $70.6 million.
This marked the release of the vampire film from Summit Entertainment, and needless to say a sequel is already in the world.
The film beat out the latest James Bond film Quantum of Solace, which fell 59% taking in $27.4 million to come in second-place.
The 10-day total for Quantum of Solace is now at $109.5 million.
The Disney animated feature Bolt also performed well taking in $27 million at the box office.
The weekend marked a 4% improvement over the same weekend a year ago.
