Hollywood (OTL) - Actor/Comedian Bernie Mac died at the age of 50-years old on Saturday, due to complications with pneumonia.
He was originally admitted to the Northwestern Memorial back on August 1st in Chicago, suffering from pneumonia.
Danica Smith, his publicist stated Saturday that “Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital.”
Bernie Mac suffered from sarcoidosis for years, causing inflammation in his lungs. This had no impact on his death though.
Complications from his pneumonia are said to have caused his natural death.
Just last Friday, Mac was said to be in stable condition, and “responding well to treatment.”
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda McCullough, their daughter Je’Niece, as well as granddaughter Jasmine, and a son-in-law.
