Toronto - Easily the two most important movies critics in all of North America, Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper are finished with their own TV show.
In two separate press releases, the two men made their announcement.
Ebert, who has had numerous health issues, has not been with the show since 2006.
He stated on Monday he is ending his relationship with the show.
The companies the own the show, Disney and ABC Domestic Television, wanted to take the show in a new direction. Both men agreed they did not want to be a part of that direction.
The 48-year old Roeper also announced he would be stepping down after August 17.
Ebert will retain the trademarked catch-phrase, “two thumbs up.”
