Toronto - In every country the The Dark Night is being shown in, it is crushing the box-office. In Mexico it took in 68.2 million pesos, or $6.74 million.
For Mexico this is the biggest opening movie of the year. And, as with every other country, it is expected to be one of the biggest movies ever.
The film is being distributed in Mexico by Warner Bros and is called Batman: El caballero de la noche.”
The Dark Knight’s opening in Mexico looked much like the opening in North America, beating out the likes of Kung Fu Panda, Iron Man, and Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
Surprisingly, The Dark Knight did not take the crown from Spider-Man 3, which opened to $12.9 million in Mexico just last year, going on to make $35.2 million.
