A Malawi judge approved Madonna and Guy Ritchie’s adoption of David Banda.
This comes more than 18 months after the couple picked up the boy from an orphanage in the African country.
Madonna nor Ritchie were present at the court for the ruling.
The approval came following the revelation that Madonna and Ritchie were taking great care of the boy.
Madonna’s lawyer Alan Chinula was relieved, stating “thank God.”
Their son David will turn 3 in November and has been staying in their London home since October 2006.
