Jennifer Hudson, known for her roles on Broadway and on American Idol, is set to release her first self-titled debut album.
The album will be released this coming September with the first single being called Spotlight.
Popular artist Ne-Yo produced the track for Hudson, and is expected to hit the radio stations this June.
The track will also be up for download over the Apple iTunes store as well.
Hudson stated recently “I think people will be pleasantly surprised, because it shows a side of my work that no one has heard before.”
She won an Academy Award in 2007 for Best Supporting Actress from her role in Dreamgirls.
