Washington - Paramount’s Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr. is ready to kick off the season of summer blockbusters as it opens this weekend in theaters.
This summer is going to be one of the biggest summers yet for movies as many big-name franchises are set to re-launch, along with a few new films as well.
The big name franchises set to own the theater this summer include Indiana Jones, Batman, and Star Wars, just to name a few.
There are also big newcomers such as the Will Smith film Hancock.
This weekend though will belong to Iron Man, as billionaire playboy Tony Stark is set to become the metal-clad super hero everyone loves.
The PG-13 film also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges, and Terrence Howard.
Iron Man has the potential to rake in over $75 million from Friday to Sunday, marking another huge May opening to kick off the season of summer blockbusters.
