Paramount was one of the last major supporters of the now defunct HD DVD format, as they were with it right up until the end. They have now announced their plans to take over the Blu-ray format.
Paramount stated that consumers needed to be patient while they laid out their plans for Blu-ray releases, but now they are ready to go.
Paramount will have their first wave of Blu-ray releases on May 20, as they will be releasing Face/Off Collector’s Edition, as well as Next and Bee Movie.
On June 3, they will release Cloverfield, as well as There Will Be Blood.
Following that, The Spiderwick Chronicles will hit Blu-ray day and date with the DVD release on June 24.
They have yet to reveal other releases such as the highly-anticipated Blu-ray debut of Transformers.
