Pop star Prince thrilled 60,000 fans at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts event held in California over the weekend.
Since the Coachella festival kicked off in 1999, organizers of the event have been trying to get Prince to play there.
He finally gave in, headlining the event this year. Prince was paid $4.8 million to perform in front of 60,000 people on Saturday night. He was only confirmed to be performing just two weeks before the event.
Prince stated to the crowd “You are the coolest place on Earth right now!”
The entire festival included 125 acts, such as Portishead, and Jack Johnson.
The three-day event is the unofficial start of the U.S. festival season.
