Los Angeles - American Idol is now down to six contestants as country singer Kristy Lee Cook was voted off Wednesday.
Cook, 24, was joined by Brooke White and Syesha Mercado in the bottom three this week.
Being Mariah Carey week, the pop singer herself also performed on tonight’s show, singing a song from her new album E=MC2.
The only real surprise this week was that Carly Smitherson once again avoided elimination. For the past few weeks, she has been the favorite to get voted off.
To close out the show, Kristy Lee Cook sang an encore of “Forever.”
The remaining contestants are ; Brooke White, David Cook, Syesha Mercardo, Jason Castro, Carly Smithson and David Archuleta.
