The animated movie, Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who did not disappoint at the box office over the weekend, taking in $45 million in ticket sales.
The film was directed by Jimmy Hayward as well as Steve Martino, scripted by Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul, and also starred Jim Carrey, Steve Carrell, and others.
The movie had a budget of $80 million, and has managed to earn almost all of it back in one weekend.
The movie met expectations of Twentieth Century Fox, which forecasted it taking in $40 million.
It beat out last weekend’s top winner, 10,000 B.C. which took in $35.7 million.
10,000 B.C. fell to second with $16.4 million. Coming in third was Never Back Down with $8.6 million, and in fourth was College Road Trip, taking in $7.8 million.
