The widow of Bob Marley, Rita Marley, is set to produce a biopic of the music legend. She will produce the film along with Rudy Langlais.
The film is expected to be based on the 2004 Marley autobiography called No Woman No Cry: My Life With Bob Marley.
The book tells the story of the life of Bob Marley, through his troubles of childhood, his marriage, assassinationi attempts, etc.
It also tells of his early death from cancer in 1981.
Langlais stated that the film will be an “epic romance.”
She stated it will also be very real, stating “I don’t want a fairy tale or Cinderella story.”
She is hoping to get her daughter-in-law, Lauryn Hill, to paly her in the film, as well as grandson Stefan, to play Bob Marley.
The script is being written by Lizzie Borden in Jamaica, and is set to release in late 2009.
