A new film in the Terminator franchise has been confirmed for release in theaters on May 22, 2009. Terminator 4 will release on Memorial Day weekend in the U.S. This will be the start of a new trilogy.
John Connor, the rebel leader, will be played by Christian Bale.
The film will be called Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.
It will begin production in the spring in New Mexico.
Directing the film will be McG, best known for Charlie’s Angels.
As stated, this will be the start of a new Terminator trilogy.
The series began back in 1984 with Arnold Schwarzenegger as the star. Two sequels were made, with the third film releasing in 2003, with John Connor taking over as the star at the end.
Sony Pictures will handle international distribution. Warner Bros. will do the release in North America.
