The 57-year-old Alley has stated she hopes to “develop and pilot my own weight-loss brand that I hope to launch in 2009.”

“After lengthy negotiations, regretfully the Jenny Craig Company and I did not come to an agreement to continue as their spokesperson. I want to create something new that will help millions of people end the seemingly never ending fatty-roller coaster ride,” read Alley’s statement. Her project will be based on innovation and improvement, she said.

She spent three-years with Jenny Craig, which she stated was “extraordinary.”

Jenny Craig offered her a contract to stay, but Alley turned it down to start her own brand apparently.

“We are sorry that she did not accept our offer” to continue appearing in the company’s ad campaign, Scott Parker, vice president of marketing for Jenny Craig, told People. “We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”

She will no longer appear in the Jenny Craig ad campaigns.

“Somehow, I’ve … fallen into the position of `accidental’ role model for, apparently, millions of people out there losing weight by whatever means,” she told People.com Tuesday. “This was something I did not bargain for, or foresee happening. Nevertheless, it is something I’ve grown to embrace.”
