She also failed to stop lawyers involved in the custody dispute with ex-husband Kevin Federline from speaking to the press.

The singer was barred from seeing Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James last month after being hospitalised following a custody dispute at her home.
Britney Spears was represented by divorce attorney Stacy Phillips. This is a change from her past law firms.

She was hopeful that the custody hearing would lead to her having visitation rights back, but it failed.

Los Angeles Superior Court spokesman Alan Parachini told reporters after yesterday’s hearing that there had been no change in the orders handed out by the family judge who last month stripped Spears of her visitation rights.

A gag order was requested by her attorney Anne Kiley before leaving the Spears case. Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent, opposed the gag order statig it was a violation of free speech.

Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told reporters: “Both sides want to see the day that visitation can resume. It’s a question of working out the details of how that can happen. Mr Federline looks forward to his children having their mom in their life.”

Commissioner Scott Gordon denied the gag order request, as it was ruled that all custody orders would remain in effect, meaning there was no change, and Britney Spears still has no visitation rights.

On a rare happy note, Britney’s fragrances topped sales amidst celebrity perfumes in Britain making $26 million last year, ahead of the range promoted by Kylie Minogue.
