Boston - Activision Inc. has reported a higher-than-expected quarterly profit thanks to the release of their two big video games, Guitar Hero 3, and Call of Duty 4.
Activision is still awaiting an approval for a merger with media giant Vivendi.
They have stated that their revenue will continue due to an aggressive roll-out of Guitar Hero 3 in Europe.
They expect revenue in the current fourth fiscal quarter to hit $350 million, 25% higher than the average forecasts coming out.
The only question mark is whether or not Guitar Hero will be as big in Europe as it is in North America.
The company is also hoping for big things from the partnership with DreamWorks for the film “Kung Fu Panda.”
