The late night talk shows may all be returning this week, but not in the way that David Letterman will be as he has struck an interim agreement on Friday with the Writers Guild of America which will allow The Late Show With David Letterman to return with its full writing staff.
This was possible because David Letterman owns the production company Worldwide Pants which does his show as well as Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Worldwide Pants negotiated with the writers and struck a deal which will allow the full staff of Ferguson and Letterman to return to work.
The writers’ union has been working with individual production companies since talks ended with the Alliance of Motion Pictures and Television Producers back on December 7th.
The WGA stated that Letterman’s company accepted the same proposals the union was set to present the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers when talks broke off.
Many other programs will return such as Conan O’Brien, Jay Leno, Jon Stewart, and more, but with no writing staff.
Letterman fans can expect the top ten list to be back in true form this week!
