Comedian Jimmy Kimmel has announced that he will be joining the likes of Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien as he will resume his late-night talk show on January 2nd on ABC without any writers.
ABC made the announcement on Tuesday that Jimmy Kimmel will resume production for the show and kick things off again with new episodes starting January 2nd.
This comes after two late-night hosts on NBC, Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien, recently announced that they would return on January 2nd without writers either.
Kimmel stated that “It is time to go back to work. I support my colleagues and friends in the W.G.A. completely and hope this ends both fairly and soon.”
The Writers Guild of America had no immediate comment about the decision by Kimmel. They will not work for the show in any capacity as Jimmy Kimmel Live will be done with no writers, who have been on strike now for six weeks.
