Singer and actor Robert Goulet died on Tuesday at the age of 73, most known for his hroles in such Broadway shows as the 1960 hit Camelot. Singer and actor Robert Goulet died on Tuesday at the age of 73, most known for his hroles in such Broadway shows as the 1960 hit Camelot.

Goulet had a rough run towards the end of his life as he suffered from the lung disease pulmonary fibrosis. He died on Tuesday at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

His wife Vera Goulet stated that he was awaiting a decision as to whether or not he would be able to receive a lung transplant. Unfortunately he never made it to finally find out.

He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts and moved to Canada later in his life where he began singing.

Goulet was well known in Broadway with his role as Lancelot in Camelot in 1960. He also starred in many TV commercials, and other stage roles in the 1950s. He won a Grammy in 1962 as best new recording artist. He released three albums that year. Goulet recorded over 60 albums and had a regular show in Las Vegas.

He also won a Tony Award for best actor in 1968 for the Broadway hit The Happy Time.

Dr. David Kipper stated that he did not meet the criteria needed to go through with the operation. Robert Goulet died with his familiy surrounding him.
