A third co-defendant in the O.J. Simpson robbery case has pleaded guilty in front of a judge in Las Vegas on Monday, cutting a deal which will have him set to testify against the former football star.
Michael McClinton, 49-years-old, reached a deal with prosecutors to testify against his co-defendants, one being O.J. Simpson. He has made this agreement in exchange to receive a far more lenient sentence.
This is the third co-defendant to take this position and plead guilty in the robbery trial, agreeing to testify against O.J. Simpson.
Clark County court spokesman Michael Sommermeyer stated “He indicated in court this morning that he would plead gulity to conspiracy to commit robbery and a robbery charge.”
The charged McClinton faces carry a maximum punishment of 11 years in prison. He is expected to receive far less than that though thanks to the plea deal he struck with prosecutors.
He is one of five men charged alsong with Simpson in an armed robbery at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
The other two he joins who have pleaded guilty, agreeing to testify against SImpson include 46-year-old Walter Alexander and 40-year-old Charles Cashmore.
