“I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time,” Wilson said in a statement.
On Monday, the Wedding Crashers actor was in good condition at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after Santa Monica police responded to a medical call Sunday afternoon. Police confirmed that a person was taken to a hospital for treatment, and a neighbor tells ABC News that police cars, an ambulance and a fire truck were at Wilson’s home Sunday.
Andrew Wilson, the bearded older brother of the roguish “Wedding Crashers” star, spent the day with him at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where a spokeswoman confirmed Owen Wilson was undergoing treatment and was in “good condition.”
A source told the tabloid TV show “Extra” that while Wilson had been “depressed for the last few months,” the dark moods were not related to his breakup.
“From what I understand, [Owen] is doing a lot better. I hope he is. All these children grew up together,” said Louise Eckelman, 72, the mother of Steven Eckelman, 42, a childhood friend from Texas who was seen entering the actor’s gated Santa Monica, Calif., house yesterday.
It just so happens that Wilson’s former girlfriend, Kate Hudson, is filming “Bachelor No. 2″ in Boston. However, the actress was keeping a decidedly low profile between takes yesterday at Centerfolds, the downtown strip club where director Howie Deutch was shooting. During a break in the action, Hudson walked outside and held the door for the scantily clad women playing strippers in the movie. When a reporter approached, Hudson was quickly ushered back inside.
Hudson and Wilson began dating last year after the release of their film “You, Me and Dupree.” They broke up this May.
