LOS ANGELES - Actor Owen Wilson reportedly was hospitalized Sunday afternoon in Santa Monica, Calif., after being treated at his home by EMTs, according to the National Enquirer and Star magazine.
Santa Monica Police issued the following statement to TMZ: “On Sunday Aug. 26. 2007 at 12:10 PM, officers from the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a medical assistance call from the Santa Monica Fire Department at the 900 block of 23rd Street. The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated.”
A relative called 911 upon finding the comedy star stumbling around a Santa Monica, Calif., street about noon yesterday, the National Enquirer and Star magazine reported.
Quoting unnamed sources, Star and the Enquirer reported Wilson sliced his left wrist and took an indeterminate amount of pills.
A source said Wilson’s brother Luke Wilson was spotted last night at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
The publications quoted a source saying that Owen Wilson was officially diagnosed as “dehydrated,” but will go through detox.
He is currently in the middle of filming the Ben Stiller-directed comedy ‘Tropic Thunder’.
