The pilot was confirmed as 63-year-old Mike Roberts.

He lived in Effingham in Surrey.

He had two passengers, David Leslie and Richard Lloyd, both worked in the motor sport industry.

It is believed that the pilot actually managed to save many people as he was able to avert the jet from flying into an area where families were outside.

The plane had issued a mayday alert. The witnesses stated that they could actually see the faces of the passengers as they were scared and heading for a crash.

The house destroyed was in Kent, the owners 72-year-old Ed Harman and 68-year-old wife Pat were just hours from returning on holiday.
