Alberta- It has been nearly 30 years since Terry Fox first captured the hearts and minds of the nation with his efforts to raise funds to fight Cancer.
Back in 1980 Terry Fox began on his long trek from St. Johns to raise awareness and money to fight cancer, and ever since the foundation that was created in his name has kept up the good fight.
So Far nearly 400 million dollars has been raised over the years, money that has been given to research groups, and money that has been used to support research and hopeful eventual development of a cancer cure.
The dream that Terry Fox had has become ingrained in a small way into the nation’s history, and it has been adopted by many people to show support for the idea and thoughts of Terry Fox, but also to show support for his cause to fight against Cancer.
The Terry Fox Foundation is the second largest Canadian Cancer research funding source, and it has been a gracious and enthusiastic supporter of some of the most cutting edge researchers and research organizations in the world of cancer prevention.
The mission of the Institute is to tray to get different groups of researchers to work together and become collaborators in the search for cancer cures.
