RCMP find stolen art

It is not uncommon for the police to sometimes expend money in the pursuit of reported valuable art that has been stolen.Vancouver, B.C.- It is not uncommon for the police to sometimes expend money in the pursuit of reported valuable art that has been stolen.

Recently, the Royal Canadian Mounted police reported that they had made some different unidentified cash expenditures that assisted in the recovery of various works of stolen art.

Many of the different investigations are continuing, so there was no detail of the amount, or the different cases that have been yielding stolen or recovered works of art.

The two missing works of art, an iconic Haida artist Bill Reid pieces have been announced recovered by the RCMP, but the details and other specifics were not revealed.

Search warrants have been issued and this will indicate that eventual charges against one or more accused thieves may later be revealed.

The Art world in North America has seen more and more art stolen over the last 5 to 10 years as people become more aware of the value and accessibility of different various works of art.

“While we cannot get into specific works of art, we are beginning to see success in recovery of some of the works of art that have been reported to the RCMP,” said RCMP Constable Anne Linteau.
