The community of Merritt is still in shock following the discovery of three children who have been murdered.
Upon returning home from an errand, the mother of the three children was horrified to discover her children dead.
Their mother found 10-year-old Kaitlynne Schoenborn, and her brothers Max, aged 8, and Cordon, aged five, on Sunday. Their mother returned to their trailer in the quiet British Columbia community of Merritt to find all three of her children dead.
Their father, 40-year-old Dwayne Schoenborn is being sought in connection with the tragic deaths of the three children. There is a national manhunt currently underway to locate and apprehend Dyawyne Schoenborn for questioning.
The local elementary school where the three students attended grade school in Merritt has been closed and there are counselors that will begin to work with the school-aged children that attend the school where the Schoenborn children formerly attended.
No word yet on what motive if any for the killings. Police have not revealed any additional information, and the coroner removed the three bodies on Monday for further autopsy analysis.
It is hoped that additional light may be shed depending on what the coroner is able to turn up during his investigation.
