The chief technology officer (CTO) of Advanced Micro Devices, Phil Hester, has stepped down from his post.
AMD has been hit with quite a few blows as of late, as their senior VP and CTO Hester stepped down. This marks the third senior executive to leave AMD in the last 12 months.
This also comes during a period where AMD was forced to cut 10% of its workforce due to lackluster revenues.
Hester was the head of the highly-anticipated next-gen micro-processor the Fusion, due out in the second-half of 2008.
Stepping in to head Fusion will be Mike Uhler. Hester will have no replacement. Instead, his duties will be spread among others in AMD.
