Dell has announced that they are closing all of their mall kiosks in the United States.
Back in 2002, when Dell was still selling their computers directly to consumers, they launched these kiosks in order to allow consumers to get hands-on time with the Dell product.
Just recently though Dell has expanded and is now selling computers in retail stores, causing no need to keep the mall kiosks open anymore.
Dell has stated that they would close all 140 U.S. kiosks.
Tony Weiss, VP of Dell’s global consumer business, stated “This move fits in with how our broad global retail strategy is evolving.”
Dell will keep kiosks outside of the United States open for the time being.
